Who We Are
Established in 2023, More Than A Smile Foundation is a community-informed organization serving immigrant, refugee, and underserved youth and families through year-round youth, family, wellness, and leadership programming.
We create spaces where immigrant and refugee families feel seen, valued, and welcomed — not just tolerated. Because home is not a place you arrive at. It's a feeling you build together.
We invest in young people's potential before the world tells them what they can't do. We build the confidence and skills to lead — in their schools, their families, and their communities.
We provide holistic support — mental, physical, and social — because thriving is not a luxury. Every family deserves more than survival. They deserve joy.
Why More Than A Smile
Our founder navigated the same systems our families face today. We don't theorize about barriers — we've lived them, and we know exactly how to remove them.
Every program is shaped by the voices of the people we serve. Our volunteers, our advisors, and our staff are drawn from the communities we work with. This is not charity. It is solidarity.
We publish our outcomes, report to our partners, and measure what matters. When something isn't working, we change it. When something works, we scale it.
What We Do
Five pillars of impact, one unified mission building a world where every family belongs, every child is seen, and every young person has the chance to lead.
A young person who knows their voice matters can change a room. From mentorship to civic engagement, we build the confidence and skills young people need to lead — in their schools, their families, and the communities that need them most.
Learn moreHealing looks different in every culture. Our trauma-informed wellness activities, peer support, trusted referrals, and culturally responsive mental-health partnerships meet families where they are — in their language, in their grief, and in their hope.
Learn moreWhen a woman rises, her whole family rises with her. Economic literacy, leadership training, and peer networks help women build independence, find their footing, and shape futures they choose for themselves.
Learn moreStability is not a privilege — it's a right. We connect families to food, education, health care, and social services, removing the invisible walls that stand between people and the life they came here to build.

A soccer ball crosses every language barrier. Through international partnerships and our Annual International Cup, we connect communities across cultures — reminding young people that their roots are a strength, not a limitation, and that leadership has no borders.
